Nicolas HOOGLAND
Translator – Interpretator : Deutch-French /French-Deutch / English-Deutch
Born in the Netherlands and Iiving in France since 1985, I decided in 1997 to put my linguistic skills and my liking for contacts and communications into practice.
Having worked alone for several years, I have now surrounded myself with a team of translators to better meet the demand that had become too important.
This is how The Language Shop was founded!

Born in England, I graduated with an MA in Italian & English Literature from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. After a year spent in Venice perfecting my Italian, I moved to Toulouse, where I gained my first professional experience in the field of translation, working in-house for a translation agency specialising in the aerospace industry. Fascinated by the occupation, I decided to establish myself as a freelancer; the freedom this offered gave me the chance to spend an amazing year living and working in the Dominican Republic, followed by two years in Barcelona.
I am now settled in France once again, and I am glad that my profession allows me to regularly use my French and Italian, in which I am fluent, as well as Spanish, a language I learned more recently! I have now set myself the challenge of starting to learn Japanese, as a result of my interest in the country.
